How Shmup Rogue and shmup.org handle your data

This Privacy Policy explains how Image AI LLC ("we", "us") handles information when you visit shmup.org or play Shmup Rogue at game.shmup.org (together, the "Service").

The short version

  • Shmup Rogue is free and needs no account. We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details to play.
  • Your game settings, language, last ship choice and high score are stored locally in your browser and never sent to us.
  • We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how many people visit and play, and our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs.

Information stored on your device

The game uses your browser's local storage to remember your settings (such as volume, auto-fire, screen shake and damage numbers), your language, your last selected ship and your high score. This data stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for game.shmup.org in your browser.

Analytics

We use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to measure aggregate usage — for example how many people start a run, which pages are visited, and which devices and browsers are used. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers and collect information such as your approximate location, device type, browser and pages viewed. We use this information only to improve the Service. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Hosting and technical logs

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses, request times and browser information to deliver pages, keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.

Emails you send us

If you email us at support@shmup.org, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use them only to reply to you and to fix problems you report.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, we do not require accounts, and we do not process payments.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, use browser extensions that block analytics, or contact us to ask about information related to you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
